Y1 try out “The golden mile.”

This week, Year One had a go at running the ‘Golden Mile’ with Premier Sports.
The children ran or jogged as many laps as they could in 3 minutes – they all tried so hard! We will be completing this track regularly with the aim of improving the children’s fitness. At the end of the term, we will see how much the children have improved, comparing how many laps they can complete with how many they have done this week.
Keep on moving Year One! ūüôā

Year 5 / 6 Football tournament

Today the children took part in the Farnworth cluster Year 5/6 football tournament at All Saints Primary School.¬† We had a great start to the afternoon, winning our opening two matches and making it through to the finals stage.¬† Unfortunately, we were beaten in our two ‘finals’ matches which meant we came third overall.¬† This is still a fantastic achievement and we showed some fantastic skills, determination¬†and sportsmanship.¬† Well done team!!

Year 2 and Year 6 work with One Goal

This half term, Year 2 and Year 6 are again¬†working with¬†One Goal¬†to receive expert coaching in our PE lessons.¬†.¬† Their¬†lessons also focus on the ‘6 habits’ (attitude, behaviour, courage, determination, effort, friendship) which children can apply in other areas of the curriculum too.¬† You can see some of the pictures below:
