This week we have been talking about how to keep our teeth clean and strong. We are now brushing our teeth every afternoon with the help of some fun songs to remind us to brush all our teeth and to keep going for 2 minutes.
We have had a fantastic start to Soring term, beginning with a wonderful pantomime of Cinderella.
We used the pantomime to launch our new fairytales topic in literacy. The children have busily been making wands for Cinderella and porridge for the three bears.
We would love to hear what fairytales the children have enjoyed reading at home.
This morning we have been learning how to keep our teeth healthy and strong by brushing our teeth and making healthy choices with what we eat and drink. We practiced brushing our teeth; remember “spit but do not rinse”.
We are bringing toothpaste and a toothbrush home and will be keeping our teeth clean in school too.
This week, Reception have been thinking about how important it is to share with one another. We read a story called “Don’t Hog the Hedge” and we have been awarding each other when we have noticed someone being kind and sharing.
We learnt a song about learning to share and performed it in assembles this morning. Well done everyone!
Sergeant Blackshaw’s visited Reception this morning to tell us all about his heroic work as a medic in the army. He told us about meeting the Queen and taught us how to salute and stand to attention. The children enjoyed learning to march and trying on some of Sergeant Blackshaw’s hats!
