Year 1 had a wonderful day learning about the history of cotton and electricity. They even got to do some experimenting too! A fantastic day of learning Year 1 – we hope you had a brilliant time!
Congratulations on all the progress in Year 1 blue! The children know this is their target over the up coming year and we have enjoyed reflecting on how far we have come already!
Congratulations to all the children who have made extra progress in their handwriting,
Some children have reached level 1c in their handwriting allowing them to move onto the next level on our handwriting pirate ship. Well done!
Well done Year 1 Blue on your fabulous musical performance of ‘I am the music man’. Super loud singing and actions! 🙂
In class this week, we have been talking about Road Safety and how to make sure we make safe choices when we are near roads. We talked about how we should only cross the road with an adult and get out of a car on the pavement side. We also learnt the Green Cross Code.
- THINK – is this a safe place to cross?
2. STOP – stop before you get to the curb.
3. LOOK and LISTEN
4. WAIT until it is safe to cross then WALK.
The children then completed an activity in groups where they had to decide if the picture showed a safe or unsafe way to cross the road. The children had some interesting discussions all about how to make safe choices when crossing roads.
