Today, Year 6 were lucky enough to try a completely new sport as part of the ‘Road to Rio’ with Premier Sports. They took part in a fencing session, which helped them to learn some of the basic attack and defense moves. The children thoroughly enjoyed the session as you can see in the pictures below:
As part of the Queen’s 90th birthday celebrations, Year 6 have taken part in the school’s red white and blue day. We watched part of the official celebration on TV and then took part in a fun quiz all about the Queen. Following this we had our picnic outside and managed to avoid the rain too! Very British!
Following the theatre production of the Kosmic Krew, Year 6 took part in a special workshop to learn the secrets of how to create a fantastic production. They learnt about costumes, how to create characters and also the sound effects used. You can see pictures below:
Today we began planning a set of instructions to create a potion based on the Harry Potter film. We experimented with a variety of disgusting ‘ingredients’ such as witch snot, grated moon frog, spider legs, dragons blood, acid, boiled rats eyes, etc. The children used these to create their own potion which they will then write about tomorrow. You can see the pictures below.
Today is the Year 6 celebration day for the end of SAT’s. They have worked indcredibly hard during their tests and we are extremely proud of their progress throughout the year. A huge thanks to one of our parents, Mr Houghton, for bringing in this cake for us to help celebrate!
