The final day of term

Well this has been a very strange year indeed! Today is the last day of the Summer term and the last day of your journey with St. Peter’s. However this is not the end, we would love to keep in touch with you all and you are always welcome! You will always be members of the St. Peter’s family 🙂

Enjoy your Summer holidays before you move on to your new school. Make sure you stay safe and have fun 🙂

I’ve added a little reading challenge for you to have a go at over the Summer to keep your minds engaged and to help you enjoy lots of different stories!

Good luck in September Year 6 🙂

Art challenge

Good morning Year 6 🙂

During Lockdown, I have seen quite a few of my friends sharing photos of their children’s artwork and I was so impressed with how well they were drawn! Then I was told about some Youtube videos called ‘How To Draw A….’ – after watching a few myself, I had to have a go! These videos show you a step-by-step tutorial on how to draw a range of different things, from waterfalls, to bikes, to parrots! The artist draws alongside his young son to show you from a child’s perspective too 🙂

I’ve attached a link to his video on ‘How To Draw A Waterfall’ for you to have a go at, but remember to ask an adult for help when using a site such as Youtube. There are lots of other video tutorials from the same artist that you could have a go at too 🙂

Send us a photo your completed artwork to – I can’t wait to see it!

Literacy challenge

Good morning Year 6 🙂

For your Literacy challenge this week, I would like you to write a poem. Reflect on your time at St Peter’s and think about all the fun, exciting, challenging and rewarding times you have had here. I’m sure you have so many memories of your time at our school and a poem is a lovely way to record how you are feeling right now for you to read in the future.

You can choose what kind of poem you would like to write. Perhaps you’d like to write an acrostic poem, or maybe a limerick, or it could be a poem that rhymes. Maybe you’d like to write a free verse poem! It’s entirely up to you 🙂

Please send your finished poems to us at – all of your teachers would love to read them 🙂

This week’s challenge is an emoji themed code breaker challenge 🙂 Think about the methods you need to use to work out some of the problems with larger numbers.

This week’s Picture News

Hello Year 6 🙂

I have attached the resources for this week’s Picture News for you.

This week looks at the recent news that people are now able to travel for holidays to certain countries without having to quarantine when they return to the UK. The question for you to think about this week is ‘are holidays important?’

Have a look through the resources above and let me know what your opinions are, I would love to have a discussion with you.
