Thank you to all our wonderful parents that came to support the children at the Christmas Crafts event today. The children made hats and cards and completed lots of lovely Christmas colouring. Thank you to the pupil leaders who helped to organise the event too.

year 8 children at Rivington and Blackrod High School are supporting Bolton Destitute Animal Shelter this Christmas. If you are able to donate a small toy or treat please bring to school by Friday 12th December. Thank you 🐶 🐈⬛

Reception have discussed the importance of staying healthy and how this can impact our heart, muscles and mind. We then had lots of fun as we worked on our yoga poses.

In maths we have been learning all about 2D shapes and their properties. This has inspired our learning in art and reception have been learning about the famous artist, Kandinsky. We looked at his creative art pieces and discussed the colours and shapes that were used before we went and made our own.

This week reception have been reading the story of The Three Billy Goats Gruff. We have been retelling the story in our role play area and describing the character of the troll by using lots of adjectives.

On Tuesday we spoke about Remembrance Day, we discussed the emotions and feelings we feel on this day and made clay poppies and a poppy painting to take home.

This week in reception we have been learning about Goldilocks and the Three Bears. We have been naming different materials and discussing their properties. We used this knowledge to help us make a bed for Goldilocks.

In reception we have been discussing bonfire night. We have created beautiful firework pictures and spoke about how to keep safe this evening.
