The class had the choice to take part in some mindfulness colouring, drawing or journaling. It was lovely to give them a bit of time to slow down, chat, reflect and express themselves in their own way before the weekend.
This morning, we talked about the things which make us happy. We then decorated a hot air balloon by throwing squares of coloured tissue paper up into the air! We made a mess but gained so much joy in doing it! We recognise that it is important to do things you enjoy and find fun in order to look after your mind ❤️
Today we focussed on ourselves and what makes us happy, feel good, loved and a sense of belonging.
To celebrate world mental health day the children have been thinking about their own identity and what makes them who they are.
This afternoon in PSHE and as part of Mental Health day on Saturday 10th October, year 4 created their own personal identity constellation to show some things that make them the person they are, this could include something that they enjoy, something they are proud of or care about or things they could get better at.
Y3G started their Leadership Development Workshop today with Chris Reddy Bright Leaders. Y3 learned today about “ Leadership” and “ Initiative” and how these would help them to become leaders. Children made their name badges and learned how to introduce themselves to the people. They have prepared their leadership booklets for future as well.
Year 3 Green celebrated ‘get comfy and read day’ in full swing today. We unboxed our new library books and read some of them in our comfortable clothes and positions.
This afternoon Y3G had their leadership development workshop with Chris Reddy. We talked about how we all can be shepherds (leaders) and sheep ( followers) at different points and even we switch our roles during a same day. Then we played a game called “secret leaders” where we have a secret leader and a leader detective. Children need to follow the actions from the secret leader and secret detective needs to look for clues and detect the secret leader. We took turns and everyone in the class got a chance to be a leader and a follower during the game.
Today, we discussed the ways that we are all shepherds or sheep at different points- we might even switch roles during the same day.
We then played a game called secret leaders where we had to tune in to non verbal cues to identify the secret leaders.
