As Monday is our Autumn disco day (this will be in the afternoon, and will finish for home time, please come into school in your party clothes!), we have been practising our dance moves! After learning how to conga a couple of week’s ago, today it was time for us to give ‘Oops Upside Your Head’ a go. Mrs Whitehead knew all the moves and we all had lots of fun learning how to clap to the beat.

Here are a few photos of some of our other activities this week; there has been science, computing, maths, English and so much more! Another fun-filled week in the Sparkle Room ✨️

We took some of learning outdoors this week and collected leaves to make an Autumn collage. We loved looking at the different shapes, colours and textures. We also found a little lady bird friend who we looked after for a while before setting her free at lunchtime 🥰🐞🍂

We have continued our time topic in maths this week by looking at our meal time routines. We have been laying the table, serving each other delicious snacks and even washing our own pots – we have no excuse not to help out with chores at home now!
In English we have focused on handwriting. We used the colourful scarves to form large letters in the air and our fingers and sprinkles to form them on a smaller scale. We then used this practise to help us write out the letters on our whiteboards and name cards.

In science this week, we have been learning about the human body by chalking around each other and labelling our body parts. In RE and PHSE we have been exploring how we are all different by decorating our own stick people! And in our topic lesson, we have been busy creating our own ‘Sparkle Family Tree’ which will be on display in our classroom soon 🥰

As part of our time topic in maths, this week we used torches and lamps to understand the difference between day and night. We used the blackout tent, the tepee and even made our own den using blankets to pretend it was night time.
