A Wonderful Week in Sparkle
0 (0)

A lot of learning (and a little bit of conga-ing) has taken place in our Sparkle Room this week! In English, we have used colourful semantics to order words in sentences correctly and in maths, we have been learning about time and our daily routines. We have practised going to sleep, waking up, making breakfast and brushing our teeth! We have also had lots of fun in music and PE and even learnt how to conga in the playground! Well done Sparklers!

We had a visit this morning from the wonderful Faye at Teddies House Nursery. She delivered an Attention Autism session which we all loved! We were super excited and engaged the entire time as she used her box of fun, sensory resources to entice us. Thank you for joining us, Faye!

Shhhhh don’t mention Christmas!

We have been busy this week starting to create our Cauliflower Christmas Cards! We know it’s quite early to mention the ‘C’ word but, we need lots of time to get our creations sent off and printed in order for you to receive them in time. We won’t give away our designs just yet but we couldn’t resist sharing some snaps of us having fun making them. We will be sending our designs home next week once they are finished.

RE and PSHE
0 (0)

Our topic for this term is ‘Ourselves’. In RE and PSHE, we have particularly focused on what makes us individual and unique. We made different faces using Playdoh to show the different features we all have. We have also been learning a new song: “This is my face!” – please ask us to sing it to you!

Wiggle Worship

Mrs Buckley from the Changing Places project brought a visitor to our Sparkle Room today. She brought Wiggle the Bible Bookworm to begin our weekly Wiggle Worship sessions. We loved cuddling up to Wiggle and used brightly coloured scarves and bubbles to send our prayers up to God.

Sensational Science!
0 (0)

In Science this week, we have been discovering about our bodies – in particular our senses. We explored ice cubes with lemons, oranges and mint leaves. We used our sense of hearing to hear the ice crunch when we ate it, smell to smell the lovely citrus flavours, touch to feel the cold, smooth ice, taste when the sour flavours tickled our taste buds and sight when we looked at the different colours.

We have enjoyed another wonderful week of learning, sparkling and shining this week. We have also enjoyed spending time with our new friends in years 5 and 6 as some of the school’s ‘play leaders’ have spent time with us at lunchtime.

Collective Worship
0 (0)

During our worship each morning, we discuss our whole school theme which is linked to our Christian values. This term, our theme is kindness and friendship. We have been discussing what kindness means as a whole group whilst preparing our own breakfast – we even helped our friends! We have been using our spreading skills and choosing whether to have butter, jam or cheese spread on our toast and bagels. We are super proud of ourselves for making our own breakfast and have loved devouring our yummy creations!
