During PSHE last week, Y2G talked about New Year’s traditions in different countries and discovered how a new year starts at different times in different countries due to their time zones. We talked about how we celebrate in the UK and watched the fireworks from London’s 2025/26 celebrations. We ended our lesson by singing and dancing to Auld Lang Syne and writing down our New Years resolutions.

In our DT lessons this term, we have been designing a shelter for a small animal. Last week we designed our structures and we constructed them today. We used a variety of materials and techniques to ensure that the shelter could stand alone and would keep an animal warm, dry and sheltered from sunlight. Take a look at our creations!

Today we looked at factors which make a good photograph. We used frames to place the subject (the focus of the photograph) in the centre, and used our previous knowledge of portrait and landscape to see which looked better.

In this week’s PSHE lesson we learnt that relaxation is important to help our bodies repair themselves. We discussed how breathing exercises can help us relax, then practised some ‘4-7-8’ breathing techniques.

Today we made predictions about who has the biggest hands in the class. We then measured our hands using cubes and then recorded the results. We used the data to see if our predictions were right!

Today, we focussed on using colours to describe our feelings. We discussed how we can feel more a range of different emotions at the same time, and learnt that not everyone feels the same.

Today, we talked about how to keep safe on the roads. We then created our own posters to help others keep safe.

Well done to our Writer of the Week!
