This week we have been reading The Very Lonely Firefly. Today we had to listen carefully to instructions to draw our own firefly! Well done Reception
Today in RE we learnt all about Diwali, the Hindu festival of lights, which was celebrated by lots of people last week. The children learnt all about the story of Rama and Sita and discovered why and how Diwali is celebrated. We then had a go at crafting some Diya 🪔 lamps which are used as decorations during the festival in many houses.
The lamps are lit during the festival to symbolise prosperity in the new year !

This term we are doing Yoga for one of our PE lessons each week. We had our first lesson today and the children were amazing at learning the new poses!
This half term our PE focus is children’s Yoga.
Reception really enjoyed their first yoga lesson.
