Year 5 25-26

Today we explored the properties of 2d shapes. We made some different 2d shapes from straws.

Today we had a pirate theme to start our pirate handwriting work. We are aiming to be ‘perfect pirates’ by forming all our letters correctly. We made hats, practised our pencil control and completed a weaving activity. We also did PE and played a pirate game. We had great fun!

Well done to Ollie and Amna who completed the reading challenge through the summer.

Also well done to Amelia who has been awarded with a trophy for her street dance! Fantastic achievements!

This afternoon we have made bookmarks to use when we read at home. If we read 3 times this week, we will move up the Reading Rainbow in our class celebration assembly. Next week, the expectation will be that we read 5 times each week – who will be moving up the rainbow this week??
