Children from year 3 have taken part in STEM club each week. They have learned about the pros and cons of mining and are now getting ready to take part in an enrichment day at Smithills High School next week.
The children have been thinking about the benefits and draw backs of hypothetical mining of Winter Hill for precious indium which is used in touch screens and other electrical devices.
The children are now preparing to present their balanced argument to a selection of STEM ambassadors. We will update you with how they get on.
