Today in reception we have had lots of fun celebrating World Book Day. We have spoken all about our favourite books and favourite book characters and have done lots of creative activities. Our staff team in reception dressed up as characters from our class text ‘The very Hungry Caterpillar’ and the children have had lots of fun retelling this story to the adults. Happy reading!

This week in reception we have been learning all about Spring! We have identified the signs of spring and reception have started to spot these signs outdoors and in our areas.
Reception have done some fantastic learning in our first week back. We have been focusing on tricky words and the children have really enjoyed learning new songs to help us remember these. Well done!

We’ve had lots of fun this week in Reception learning about height and length and extended our learning of pirates. The children have used the map reading skills they gained when programming the beebots to create their own maps.

Thank you so much to all the parents who attended our parent pop in this morning! It was lovely to see the children engaging in lots of phonics activities and to share what reading looks like in reception. We hope you all enjoyed it!

This week we read the story of ‘The Precious Pearl’. We spoke about how special we are and that God’s love for us is very precious. Next week reception will be able to create their very own ‘Precious Pearl’!

Reception have had great fun learning all about repeating patterns this week, they have even incorporated this into their outdoor learning. Fantastic work reception!

Today reception have been focusing on their underarm throws in PE. They listened incredibly well to instructions and all the children really enjoyed working on these skills. Well done!
