Reception had a brilliant Wiggle Worship session yesterday all about David and Goliath. We listened to the story, sang lots of songs and even got to make our own shield. Thank you so much to all the parents that attended, we had a wonderful time!
In reception this week we have been discussing 2D shapes. We have spoken all about the properties of a 2D shape and discussed ways in which we can rotate and manipulate shapes. Together we made a picture out of these shapes and discussed why we had chosen each shape for each part of the picture.
To start our topic of ‘people who help us’ we have been learning about doctors and nurses. The children have learned about these professions, the equipment needed and about taking care of people who need our help.
This week we have had lots of fun in the lead up to our trip to the farm! We have painted our favourite animals, built a barn and a farm!
Lots of fun has been had in reception this week as we have continued learning about plants. This weeks focus has been sunflowers! We have drawn and painted lots of sunflowers, with our inspiration being the famous artist Vincent Van Gogh!
This week we have been working super hard on our automatic retrieval of number bonds. Well done reception!
On Thursday we celebrated VE Day in school! We had lots of fun making flags, writing letters and working on our colouring.
A great demo today from Red Tiger. We talked about the values of courage and resilience when undertaking a new hobby.
We have had a super first week back and are so impressed with how well reception know their number bonds to 10! Well done!
