Yesterday we enjoyed a delicious treat in reception!

This week in reception we have been focusing on their transition to Year 1 and preparing for summer. We have read lots of stories about settling into their new classroom and have enjoyed lots of fun summer activities.

Reception enjoyed another fantastic Commando Jo session today! They worked hard on their communication and team building skills. Well done reception!

We have had a very exciting morning in reception! We have had two wonderful visitors from Farnworth Police Station who came to speak to the children all about being a police officer. We learned lots about how they help others, we listened to the police siren and we even got to sit in a police van!

Reception had a wonderful sports day! Well done to all the children (and adults) who participated in the races, they all did absolutely brilliantly. Thank you to all the grown ups who came to watch our sports superstars!

Continuing our learning of ‘People Who Help Us’, reception have been learning all about firefighters. This morning some special visitors came to visit reception. Thank you to the Farnworth Fire Community Station for taking the time to visit us. We had a wonderful time learning all about the amazing work you do to help us.

On Friday reception were raising money for our class charity, Cancer Research, by coming dressed as a person from our topic ‘people who help us’. We have learned all about charity, how to raise money and about helping others.

Reception have been working very hard on their writing this year. Look at these fantastic sentences we have written this week!
