Mrs Simmons We had another great session with Commando Joe this morning. Could we work together to rebuild a hidden structure using our communication skills? We definitely improved across the session. Well done everyone!
We have worked really hard this week in all our subjects. We have learned about pollination in plants, multiplication and division and read Greek myths and legends. As a treat we have enjoyed the sunshine with an ice lolly!

6 Green had another successful music lesson with Minshall Music. The children have been learning how to play chords from famous songs on a digital keyboard (using the iPads). Today’s chords were Coldplay’s Viva La Vida and the Beatles, Let It Be.
Last Thursday, 6 Green took a welcome break from their revision tasks to undertake another important task… making Mother’s Day cards. The children were creative and made some beautiful cards. We hope that you enjoyed them on Mothering Sunday.
Today, the children were visited by three members of the Audacious Church, who put on an excellent performance retelling the Easter Story.
Today, Y5G have been investigating shapes. We talked about properties such as regular, irregular, equal sides and unequal angles. We were then set a challenge – to sort our shapes into a Venn diagram using their properties. It was a brilliant activity to help us use vocabulary related to shape.
Year 5G are having a wonderful time in Music this half term!
Today, 6 Green decided to investigate whether there was any truth to an online video of bottle collecting that they watched in class. Is it quicker to start with the cones furthest away or the cones closest to you? After much running, they came to the conclusion that starting further away was slightly quicker, supporting the video. To increase the challenge, they then had to work as a team to use sticks to collect the cones. It was great to watch the laughs, smiles and encouragement that they gave to one another.
Last week, Mrs Rawlinson helped us to think about why Christians believe that it is wise to follow the teachings of Jesus. We explored different stories and examples of Jesus’ teachings to make up our minds.
