Ms Smalley Happy New Year back at the Sparkle Room! This week, we have been learning about animals that live in polar habitats alongside the story Lost and Found by Oliver Jeffers. We created polar bear paintings and sorted animals that do and don’t live in the ice. In Maths, we have been securing our knowledge of numbers to 5.
What a week of Christmas fun! We have been getting creative making cards and calendars, partied with RockKidz and even had a special visit from the man himself, Father Christmas!

Another busy week of learning in the Sparkle room! This week, we have been reading the story of The Emperor’s New Clothes. We decorated crowns and have been learning to describe different materials in provision. We loved creating our number blocks pictures too!
We have also been focussing on exercise and keeping our body healthy. We have been practising our breathing and yoga and noticing changes in how our body feels.
As usual, we loved our weekly visit from Wiggle, especially the bubbles and scarf song! <3
Another super week of learning! We have been learning about the Three Little Pigs, using printing to create brick patterns. We have been practising our ICT skills to create pictures on PurpleMash as well as developing our cutting and fine motor skills. We also celebrated a birthday of a member of a class, singing happy birthday and dancing. Well done Sparkle Room!
Another super week of learning in the Sparkle room! This week we created firework paintings inspired by Bonfire Night, designed beds for Goldilocks thinking about the different materials we would need and even tried some African inspired drumming!
What an exciting week we have had in the Sparkle Room. The children went to watch a pantomime of Peter Pan, which they absolutely loved! We have been learning about celebrations this week through the story Kipper’s Birthday. We planned a birthday party for Kipper, including writing invitations, making cakes and making decorations. We finished the week with a birthday party for Kipper. In our Maths lessons, we have been focussing on 2D shape.

This week our theme in the Sparkle room has been Autumn. The children have taken part in lots of Autumn activities, including making Autumn wreaths. We have been focussing on number in Maths and practising our letter formation and cutting skills. We have been exploring the shop and the tunnel in continuous provision.
This week we have been learning through the story Funny Bones and finding one more in Maths. We have been practising our cutting skills and learning to name the parts of our body.
Another wonderful week of learning in the Sparkle room! This week we have enjoyed water play, practiced our letter formation, practiced counting and our numbers, celebrated European Day of Languages and created our Cauliflour Christmas Cards.
