Hello from Robinwood! We have had an amazing day so far and the children have had the best time taking part in their activities. They have done brilliantly so far and we are so proud of them.

We will update this blog with a few pictures each day. We will aim to include a photo with every child on, however, if you cannot see your child please do not worry. Be assured that they are fine and having an amazing time.

Should you need to contact us (emergency only) please email:

office@st-peters-farnworth-bolton-sch-uk

This email will be monitored by a member of staff over the weekend and if you need to contact us urgently, they will alert us to your message.

The children are about to have tea before taking part in their final activity and then off to bed for some much needed sleep, ready for tomorrows fun.

Enjoy your weekend!

Easter SATs Revision
1 (2)

The children have worked extremely hard over the past few weeks and many are keen to continue to do some small amounts of revision over the Easter break, to ensure they hit the ground running when we return to school.

Therefore, we have put together a revision pack for children which involves ’10 for 10’ activities, designed to be done over ten days during the holiday to keep their skills sharp.  As requested by the children, we have also compiled a simple revision timetable that they can follow to ensure they know what to do and when.  This timetable ensures that the maximum revision on any one day is 30 minutes.

Of course, it is vitally important that the children relax and enjoy their break, but just 30 minutes a day will really help them to be prepared for their upcoming SATs tests.

Additionally, there have been some optional tasks uploaded onto ‘Emile’ for children who want to do more specific learning on a variety of tasks and they can also choose their own tasks on Emile should they wish.  The reading and maths 10 for 10 booklets are attached to this blog as well as several mini GAPs activities.

Other Resources:

CGP also do free online 10 minute tests, which are also useful and the link is here:

In the document below is a grammar paper which has links at the side of each question.  The children can try the questions and if they get stuck, they can click the link to play a game which helps them revise that skill.  (I have check and one or two links do not work but the vast majority of them do).

Please encourage your child to do a little revision during the holiday to support them in the final run up to SATs.

Thank you for your support

Mr Lane and Mr Simmons.

Year 6 Blue Commando Joe
0 (0)

Last Thursday year 6 blue were tasked with deciding whether there was any truth to an online video of bottle collecting that they watched in class. Is it quicker to start with the cones furthest away or the cones closest to you? After much running, they came to the conclusion that starting further away was slightly quicker, supporting the video. To increase the challenge, they then had to work as a team to use sticks to collect the cones. It was great to see the children’s communication, team work and resilience skills.
