Year 3 Blue and Green – How to be brilliant
0 (0)

Today Year 3 had a workshop presented by Will and Bolton Library Services about How to be brilliant.

Will spoke a lot about changing the way we think about things as everything and anything has an alternative perspective. He told us to take ownership of our happiness and to learn how to be a good version of yourself.

As a group Year 3 spoke about things that they appreciate but take for granted, they gave some amazing answers like family, the air we breathe, memories, food, pets, the house we live in that provides warmth and safety and Jesus.

Will also talked about self control and self discipline and being the best version of ourselves.

The children took a lot away from this session and will now be looking at ways of How to be brilliant.

Year 3 Blue – ICT programing with Lego models
0 (0)

Yesterday Year 3 Blue went on an amazing trip to the Bolton ICT Centre at Smithills High School where they were warmly welcomed by Mrs Temel and Mrs Lyons.

Throughout the day the children worked in pairs building different styles of robots using Lego, they followed instructions on an iPad. The children had to then program their robots to do different things including changing colours, making noises or getting them to move.

In the Afternoon, Year 3 were then set another task of building a car and had to come up with their own set of Algorithms.

It really was a fantastic day, and we certainly have some computers scientists in our class.
