World Book Day – Y6 Green
0 (0)

6 Green had an eventful World Book Day, listening to parts of George’s Marvellous Medicine, before exploring the character of Grandma. They were also introduced to our new class text, Escape From Pompeii, where they created their own blurbs. During the morning, also they listened to our fabulous guest author, Jen Carney! Finally, in the afternoon, they used Play Doh to model scenes and characters from their favourite books. There were some great models with such a wonderful, diverse range of stories. We had a lovely day!

Visit from Author and Illustrator Jen Carney
0 (0)

Today we had a visit from Jen Carney who read some chapters of her books that she has written – she also got the children to draw something beginning with a letter from the alphabet to see what ideas they could come up with.

Jens books are fantastic and so easy to read.

6 Green – Science: Evolution
0 (0)

In Science, Year 6 Green have been learning about Evolution. Today, we used Play-Doh to model the steps in an evolutionary journey (example: fish to Nile crocodile). We had great fun and the children did a fabulous job of thinking about what creatures might have looked like millions of years ago.
