Today, 6 Green’s worship centred around mental health as a part of Mental Health Awareness Week. We discussed what good and bad mental health is and how this can affect people with their actions and choices. We look forward to exploring this further throughout the week.
Today in French with Madame Harris, 6G continued to develop their understanding of French, learning about articles linked to plural and singular items of food. I will very impressed with their efforts! Mr Simmons.
Today, 6 Green had another challenging Commando Joe session, where communication and cooperation were key to their success. Today, they had to work in pairs to move a ball between their backs (no hands allowed), whilst negotiating obstacles. At one point, one of each pair was even blindfolded! They worked wonderfully and showed fantastic resilience throughout. Well done 6 Green!
We have had an incredible morning with Azeem Amir. We have heard about his experiences with visual impairment and how amazing it is to represent England in blind football. We learned a lot about the importance of self motivation and not limiting ourselves – reaching for our goals!
We have already written our first scary story based on Whitby Abbey. Be prepared to hear all about our second story all about Francis. This is how Year 5 felt while we watched the film this afternoon! Why not ask them to show you…
We had a brilliant time on Party Day. Songs were sung, dance moves shared and corners played. The children were tired by lunchtime! It was so lovely to see them congratulating winners and being wonderful sports. They were amazing!
We have had a wonderful Christmas dinner today and are feeling very festive. A huge thank you to our lovely dinner staff for making our lunch.
Year 5 Green were code breakers on Tuesday at SICT. We had a wonderful time being spies and breaking codes just like they did at Bletchley Park during WW2. What a difficult but amazing job!
We had an amazing time on our trip to Stockport Air Raid Shelter. We learned so much about what life was like in war time.
Lat week, 6 Green once again had a busy week. On Wednesday, the created Remembrance Lanterns for use in times of reflection. They also worked collaboratively in Commando Joe’s, attempting to build the tallest, stable structures within a set time. They also had their first lesson with Minshall Music, playing the ‘boom whackers’ wonderfully. Well done 6 Green!
