Today Year 5 Blue looked at the variety of passing in Netball and then decided to put their skills to the test!

Over the past few Tuesday afternoons, Year 5B has been working with Chris from Bright Leaders, diving into sessions focused on personal development and growth. The main theme has been “initiative”—what it means, how to show it, and how it helps us grow. The children have been absolutely loving the experience! It’s been wonderful to see their excitement, teamwork, and confidence as they step outside their usual friendship groups to collaborate with different classmates.Throughout these sessions, they’ve explored key skills like leadership, problem-solving, and teamwork. The joy and engagement on their faces have been a testament to how much they are learning and enjoying the process. We look forward to more growth and fun in the weeks ahead!

This Thursday, our Year 5 classes had a wonderful time celebrating the European Day of Languages through hands-on, creative activities. Moving between classrooms, students explored different countries and cultures in engaging ways.
In Finland, they learned about the Northern Lights and created vibrant sketches inspired by the Aurora Borealis. In Spain, they explored Antoni Gaudí’s architecture, designing colorful drawings inspired by his famous works. The journey ended in France, where students practiced a few French phrases and created artistic representations of landmarks like the Eiffel Tower.
As you can see from the photos, the children had a fantastic time embracing new cultures and learning through fun and engaging activities.

Our visit to Moses Gate last Thursday was a great success, despite everyone returning to school with rather tired legs! (Apologies, class – my navigation skills took us the scenic route). We explored the fascinating history of the area and how much it’s changed over time. Along the way, we observed a variety of wildlife and plants, and even played a game called ‘Edible or Deadible’ – thankfully, everyone lived to tell the tale! And best of all, the weather was on our side, and we all stayed dry.
Today we had our first lesson on body percussion! As you can see all naturals!
