Y3G had their session with Chris-Bright Leaders. We practiced our listening and cooperation skills. Cooperation skills involve communication, sharing, taking-turns, problem-solving and empathy. Y3G practiced these skills by building animals with play-dough in pairs. They showed positive-reinforcement and encourage each other by modelling and expressing their ideas clearly. They worked together to find solutions even when conflicts arise.

Year 3 Green enjoyed their Party day at school. They had party lunch in class, played lots of games and danced with their 100% energy.

Today we celebrated Rockstar day at school and children dressed as their favourite Rockstars.

This week’s ’Hummingbird project workshop’ Y3G focused on ‘being kind and thankful’. We counted our blessings and wrote them down as sometimes we can feel sad and frustrated that we don’t have as many nice things as the people around us. We also made a ‘Thank You’ card for someone ‘special’ in our lives who’s always there to help and support us.

During this week’s Hummingbird Project workshop, we learned to identify our character strengths. We had to narrow down our many strengths to just 5. Some of us chose humour, forgiving, grateful, considerate and creative to name a few. We are always developing and building on our strengths.

Y3G had their session with Bright Leaders. They practiced their leadership skills. We focused on, how to lead ourselves and use our “Initiative” while working together. We had to think, how to take initiative while working in pairs, working together to complete the tasks and learned that it is very important to play our part and consider the ideas of others.

This week Y3G took part in the 2nd session of HUMMINGBIRD Project. Today, we focused on ‘Mindfulness’ and ‘Savouring’. Savouring involves slowing down and paying attention to the tiny things that make you happy. We have done a small sniffing activity where children sniffed from different Jars and rate the smell.

Year 3 had their session with Bright Leaders. We practised our listening and cooperation skills. We had to think about working together to complete tasks and learned that it is important to play our part, consider the ideas of others and do the right thing even when no one is watching.
