In art this afternoon the children used their finger tips as paint brushes and explored different colours, shapes and patterns. We can’t wait to put all our skills together to create our Gaudi masterpieces soon!

It has been another busy day in year 1. The children have started reading new story in English, Lost in the Toy Museum. They have been rehearsing retelling the story to each other using a story map.

Then this afternoon the children have practiced logging on to the laptops and using the mouse to click and drag objects.

Today we explored different lines and shapes that we can paint to create art like Gaudi. We used curved lines, dotted lines and even zig zags to create different shapes and patterns that remind us of nature.

Well done to this week’s Reading champion and writer of the week!

Year 1 are enjoying taking their learning outside of the classroom in our provision areas. They have been exploring old toys, being creative in our role play area and using their imagination to create amazing models using the magnetic tiles.

Today we showed great stillness when balancing the beanbags and then we played lots of games that helped us to catch a bounced ball.
