Mrs Williams came to visit us today and brought a special visitor with her. Gulnaz Brennan has written a wonderful book that teaches children about the importance of understanding money and being thoughtful about how we use our money: will we spend, save or share our money? The children listened beautifully and asked some great questions.
This morning, we had a special visit by an author called Gulnaz Brennan, accompanied by a special guest Mrs Williams to discuss the importance of saving money and different ways we can use money.
Year 3 have been learning about Eugenie Clark. She was a pioneer in the world of marine biology and researched sharks. She shows curiosity and passion at an early age. She persevered when she faced discrimination for being a woman in a field of work dominated by men, she stood strong when she was judged for being half American and half Japanese and was a courageous advocate for sharks and their habitats: they are intelligent beautiful creatures which deserve to be protected and respected.
Today we were back with Commando Joe, our challenge was to build a multi purpose vehicle. Plenty of communication and team work skills were needed to cheat a vehicle that could cope with water, land, snow, mountains and valleys. Some very interesting creations.
Year 1 had a great afternoon practising their teamwork skills with Commando Joe.

Super team work this afternoon!
This afternoon in our PHSE session – we discussed the importance of effective communication, including the way we talk, body language, facial expressions, eye contact and listening.
We also watched a short video about a boy called Sean who is deaf and the way that his friends communicated with him.
Lastly the children got into pairs and played some games of charades to see if their partner could guess what they were actioning.
