Thank you to all the local schools who attended our dodgeball competition this afternoon! All the children behaved exceptionally and had lots of fun competing! A special well done to our over all winners- Cherry Tree!
Today, Year 5 took part in a fantastic and inspiring workshop led by Azeem Amir from Learn with ESS. The workshop helped us learn more about disability awareness and how people can face challenges in their everyday lives — and more importantly, how those challenges can be overcome

It’s been a lovely week in Year 5 this week. The Christmas tree is up, we had a fantastic time at the panto and are going to make some lovely decorations. In curriculum we have been learning about how we can separate salt and water by drawing some pictures and allowing the water to evaporate. We finished this week with a bonus lesson with Rees Sports who helped us improve our netball skills.
This morning, KS2 were treated to a trip to the theatre to watch Beauty and the Beast, the children were amazing throughout the production and were also treated to an ice cream during the interval.
year 8 children at Rivington and Blackrod High School are supporting Bolton Destitute Animal Shelter this Christmas. If you are able to donate a small toy or treat please bring to school by Friday 12th December. Thank you 🐶 🐈⬛
We spent our afternoon practising different yoga poses! It was definitely harder than we all expected—Mr. Pogorzelec included!
We then spent 10 minutes with the lights off, lying on our yoga mats and listening to a guided meditation. 🧘♀️🧘♂️
Safe to say, some children even caught a few 💤!
We have had a very busy week in Year 5. Monday saw the start of assessment week and we have worked really hard to show off our learning. On Tuesday we attended Harper Green for the morning, learning about careers. A cleaning company came to speak to us about all the job opportunities they provide. It was exciting to hear about all the amazing events they had worked at – cricket, Olympics, football, horse racing, concerts…the list was endless! We even got to see an Olympic torch from the 2012 games.
This morning Key Stage 2 children took part in an assembly run by Yunex Traffic who develop systems and services to make our roads safer, more efficient and more sustainable.
They also discussed the importance of road safety.
