Today Year 3 have been treated to an amazing cultures day where firstly they tasted some delicious Greek food in the Taverna including olives, Pitta Breads, Hummus, Tzatziki and a dessert of Greek yoghurt and honey finished off by some traditional Greek dancing.
Next we went to Finland and learnt about the Northern lights and a Folklore story about a Fox, we then produced our own Northern Lights Artwork
Our next stop was to Spain, where we learnt all about Spain’s decorative tiles that you see on many of their buildings today.
Finally we learnt about Mexico and Madame Harris talked about the one of their traditions that they celebrate called el Dia de Muertos or The Day of the Dead in English. Year 3 then created their own Ofrendo which is an offering to loved ones who are no longer here.
It was a brilliant day learning about the different traditions of each of these Countries.
