Today Year 3 blue had a workshop with our visitor today Azeem Amir who is a visually impaired Professional English Footballer and the founder of ESS which provides disability awareness within schools and businesses.
Azeem took the children through some various football tasks using a blindfold and a football specifically modified for the visually impaired that contains ball bearings that make a noise, therefore the children relied purely on sound and with the help of their partners, this is so they got to experience what it would feel like to do a sport with visual impairment.
The children found this very challenging but learnt to never give up and to keep trying.
Year 3 really enjoyed this session and learnt that you can do anything you want to with a positive mindset.
