Year 3 had their session with Bright Leaders. We practised our listening and cooperation skills. We had to think about working together to complete tasks and learned that it is important to play our part, consider the ideas of others and do the right thing even when no one is watching.
Thank you so much to Dave and friends from Yunex Traffic who came to school today to talk to the children about road safety. As you can see the children were very involved with the session!
Today we took part in a workshop with the Hummingbird Project. We thought about the things which make us happy and took part in some mindfulness activities. We cannot wait for next week’s session!
Ian from MedEquip4Kids came in today to launch The Humming Bird Project. The children will have a session each week for the next 6 weeks to learn about ways they can help themselves to feel happier, look after their own well-being and build resilience.
Today, we focused on what makes us happy and discussed how life is full of ups and downs and that we can try to turn to the things that make us feel happy in life’s downs. We talked about how we can make choices if we feel sad, upset, disappointed and angry. There are things we can control and things that we can’t but we can always control how we react and respond.
Today, we focussed on using colours to describe our feelings. We discussed how we can feel more a range of different emotions at the same time, and learnt that not everyone feels the same.
Year 3 Blue discussed the leadership structure within school and realised that they play a very important role in making school a successful and happy place to learn. The children practised stopping when ready and following instructions. They talked about role modelling the correct behaviour for their peers. Leaders in the making!
This week we have been talking about how to stay safe near roads. We know to stay with an adult and we looked at the safest places to cross a road. We then created our own road safety posters to help others keep safe!
