It’s been a lovely week in Year 5 this week. The Christmas tree is up, we had a fantastic time at the panto and are going to make some lovely decorations. In curriculum we have been learning about how we can separate salt and water by drawing some pictures and allowing the water to evaporate. We finished this week with a bonus lesson with Rees Sports who helped us improve our netball skills.

Year 5G Yoga & meditation lesson!

We spent our afternoon practising different yoga poses! It was definitely harder than we all expected—Mr. Pogorzelec included!

We then spent 10 minutes with the lights off, lying on our yoga mats and listening to a guided meditation. 🧘‍♀️🧘‍♂️
Safe to say, some children even caught a few 💤!

A busy week in Year 5!

We have had a very busy week in Year 5. Monday saw the start of assessment week and we have worked really hard to show off our learning. On Tuesday we attended Harper Green for the morning, learning about careers. A cleaning company came to speak to us about all the job opportunities they provide. It was exciting to hear about all the amazing events they had worked at – cricket, Olympics, football, horse racing, concerts…the list was endless! We even got to see an Olympic torch from the 2012 games.

Our Year 5 remembrance service assembly today was truly special. The children performed beautifully, singing with heartfelt emotion and showing deep respect throughout. Their hard work and dedication all week shone through in every moment. We are so proud of their maturity, teamwork, and thoughtful reflection on this important occasion. We also send thanks to all at home who supported us to make this service so special.

Netball Competition

This afternoon, seven incredible year 5 and 6 girls took part in a netball competition, winning all three of their games which took them to the final.

These girls showed determination and strength, along with amazing teamwork, playing with smiles on their faces.

They continued to push with everything they had in the final, but it wasn’t meant to be this time, but they came second over all which is fantastic.

St Peter’s is so proud of their amazing achievements. Well done to you all.
