It was another busy week here in Y5B this week. Our class novel is continuing to be exciting and emotional as we follow Billy Plimpton on his journey to find his confidence and achieve his dreams. This week Billy did himself proud and completed his speech. Our football session with Rees Sports was high energy with lots of passing, tackling and controlling the ball. We ended our week with some thoughts around mental health. We asked questions such as ‘How might we react?’ ‘How would that make us feel?’ ‘Is there a different way?’. We have a better understanding of how feelings and actions affect ourselves and others.

In Year 5 Green this week we have focused on different jumps in Gymnastics; We looked at the importance of safe landings and control. Here are some action shots!

Another busy week in Year 5B. We are making some great progress in our Maths, learning about problem solving. We have had to think hard because the answer to our calculations was not always the answer to the question! Our class text is also getting good. Billy has shown such bravery and we can’t wait to find out what happens next!

We had a fabulous day experiencing the languages and traditions of different European countries. We wrote words of peace, designed some beautiful Delft inspired tiles and had a wonderful time in our cafe!

Year 5 Green have loved celebrating European Languages Day! We sang a song during assembly and learned fun facts about European countries and traditions. The best part was tasting foods such as olive oil, tzatziki, French baguette, cucumber, olives, figs, and crunchy breadsticks.

What a fantastic start to European Languages Day! Thank you Madame Harris and thank you year 5 for your wonderful performance!
Madam Harris kicked off our European Day of Languages with a fantastic assembly all about languages from across Europe. Our assembly was finished off by a performance from our year 5 singing a song which they have been learning in their lessons with Madam Harris.
