Year 2 took part in a litter pick around school. Children looked for any litter which had been dropped on the floor.

Once back at school, children then sorted the litter into plastic and non-plastic.

The purpose of this activity is to find out how much plastic litter there was around our local area.

Science and Nature week: change and adapt in Year 3

Year 3 have been learning about Eugenie Clark. She was a pioneer in the world of marine biology and researched sharks. She shows curiosity and passion at an early age. She persevered when she faced discrimination for being a woman in a field of work dominated by men, she stood strong when she was judged for being half American and half Japanese and was a courageous advocate for sharks and their habitats: they are intelligent beautiful creatures which deserve to be protected and respected.

Look at our plants!

Over the past we weeks we have been growing our own bean plant; watering it daily and ensuring it has the right amount of air and sunlight.

Today, we enjoyed looking out how much our plants have grown and measuring them to see which one was the tallest!

6 Green – Science: Evolution

In Science, Year 6 Green have been learning about Evolution. Today, we used Play-Doh to model the steps in an evolutionary journey (example: fish to Nile crocodile). We had great fun and the children did a fabulous job of thinking about what creatures might have looked like millions of years ago.

Year 5 Farnworth Matters workshop 6.2.25

This morning, a group of Year 5 students attended an exciting STEM workshop at a nearby school in Farnworth. They had the opportunity to design, build, and test their own balloon-powered cars, learning valuable lessons in engineering and creativity. A fantastic hands-on experience that sparked their interest in science!
